Skins, Scales & Skulls Taxidermy is a privately owned
and operated taxidermy service for the outdoor enthusiast. Whether you are a professional or a
recreational trapper, hunter or fishermen, you’ll appreciate the level of
quality that I have to offer.
I have been an avid sportsman all my
life. When I was a young kid, I spent
countless hours in the field trapping. This
was the beginning of my passion, enthusiasm, and appreciation of the
outdoors. I would spend nearly each
awaking hour outdoors. One of the
biggest highlights to my sportsman’s career was…trapping enough pocket gophers
for bounty money, and purchasing my first rifle. Which was a 30-30 Marlin.
I had a great foundation laid for me in learning how to be the perfect outdoor enthusiast. With the support of my mother, and the lessons learned from my father, my uncle, and my grandpa, the seed was planted. I was always taught to abide by the rules and regulations set forth and to respect the great outdoors and everything surrounding it.
So with this passion, it’s a perfect
fit for me to be a taxidermist. I feel
I’m
a step ahead of most young taxidermists.
Prior to me deciding to go full-time, I attended taxidermy school. Here, I was taught trades from other great
taxidermists, in all aspects of the business – in order to be successful. I took those skilled trades, and adapted some
of my own, to create my own unique taxidermy art. I was able to experience and work with new products and tools avail now to taxidermists. Additionally, in order to keep up on the latest updates in the "taxidermy world", I'm a member of the Minnesota Taxidermy Guild and a subscriber of two major taxidermy publications; Breakthrough Magazine & Taxidermy Today.
I'm a do-it-all taxidermy shop and capable of bringing anything "back to life", from big and small game, to birds and fish. All big and small game hides, I use commercial tannery service. I also have an in-house demisted beetle colony that I use for all my skull work. With this technique, European skull mounts have never looked better! Be sure to check out my gallery.
The way I handle my taxidermy business
is…I treat each mount as a trophy as it is unique in its own way. I literally “babysit” your mount from start
to finish in my shop, to ensure quality is achieved.
I look forward to answering any
questions you may have and to serve you in the future.
